Hundebekleidung

As with humans, dogs have differing sensitivity to cold. This is independent of race and size. If your dog has a short fur and therefore also little warming underfur, your dog will quickly be cold, especially once they get older. This applies to dachshunds, boxers or pugs. But long-haired dogs can be sensitive to cold as well, for example if their fur has just been trimmed.
A warm jacket can offer relief during the daily walk particularly for older dogs, if they suffer from back pain or a weakened immune system. The jacket protects the body and prevents the wet from soaking the fur and the skin.
But protection against wet and cold in winter in the form of a suitable jacket is also important for puppies whose immune system is not yet fully developed.

Closely watch your dog on a cold day with wind, rain or snow. Hereby, the way your dog moves is important: If your dog is tense, pulls up their back like a cat or tugs their tail under their belly, they are probably cold. A visible muscular shiver is highly typical and also an important clue. At the very least, when your dog does not want to go out anymore at all, you can be certain that your dog would like a warming jacket.

For cold and wet days, we particularly recommend:

Our stylish "Amundsen" parka with a faux fur collar as well as our Dogz-Wear Ski Jacket and Ski Suit are ideal for particularly cold winter months with or without snow. „Amundsen Dogz-Wear-Skijacke & Skianzug“ ideal.

In addition to the perfect fit for all dog sizes and breeds, a particular quality feature of WOLTERS dog wear is the so-called ecorepel® waterproofing, which is particularly water and dirt-repellent and ideally suited for cold and wet days.

The following dog jackets have ecorepel® waterproofing:

  • Softshell Jacket Basic,
  • Rain Jacket Easy Rain,,
  • Winter Jacket Amundsen,,
  • Dogz-Wear Ski Jacket and Ski Suit
  • Rain Suit and Parka

Ecorepel® is a so-called equipment technology which makes fabric water and dirt-repellent (particularly watery dirt) to a high degree. This technology is particularly environmentally friendly, free of hazardous fluorocarbons and biodegradable. Ecorepel® can withstand washing very well and is highly resistant to wear and abrasion.

er The ecorepel® treatment consists of paraffin chains which enclose the fibres of the fabric with a thin layer. This reduces the surface tension of the fabric so that water and watery dirt, whose surface tension is significantly higher, are repelled. Fabrics treated with ecorepel® function like the plumage of a duck, which repels water.

Large dogs are not immune from the wet and the cold. Therefore, we also offer dog wear for very large dogs. The following jackets are suitable for dogs of up to 80 cm:

Our sweaters are knitted from soft polyester wool. The material is wear and tear resistant and keeps your dog cozy and warm. Of course, the sweaters are washable.

All Wolters dog jackets are washable. Please pay attention to the cleaning and washing instructions on the respective product.

No, there is no repair set for Wolters jackets. In many cases, a tailor can help you repair small tears and holes.

WOLTERS dog wear should be washed at 30°C on the gentle cycle..

It is important to reduce the spin rotation rate, because spinning at a high rate might separate the fabric layers from the membrane, which would negatively affect the functionality of the jacket.

Our dog wear must not be dry-cleaned, bleached, ironed or tumble-dried.

After washing, we recommend hanging up the wet jacket and letting it dry.

You can wash the knitted sweaters at 30° C. Please use mild detergent and no fabric softener. Use the wool setting on your washing machine. Do not use the spin cycle, because the sweaters might otherwise stretch and wear out. Air-dry, do not tumble-dry.

"Millimetres of water" is a measurement used to determine the degree of waterproofing of fabrics. In order to determine the degree of waterproofing, a cylinder with a diameter of 10 cm is set onto the fabric and filled with water. In the following, it is measured at which filling height the fabric soaks through within 24 hours.
If for example, a fabric is listed as waterproof up to 2000 mm of water, this means that you can set a 2 metre long water-filled cylinder onto the fabric without the water getting through.
Detailed information about the waterproofing can be found on the respective product pages.
